How to Connect Convertful with iContact

Integration is under development

You can easily connect Convertful widgets with iContact to grow your mailing lists and create email automations. Follow our step-by-step guide on how to integrate iContact with Convertful.

Step 1: Choose iContact Integration #

First, you need to choose a service to integrate with. When editing a widget, go to the Integration tab:

Next, choose iContact from the list of available email providers:

You can add a new iContact account, filling in its credentials:

Account Name is an internal value that you will be able to use to identify this particular account in account lists.

Step 2: Get your iContact API ID, URL, Username and Password #

To find your API ID Application URL go to your iContact Settings section, API page:

If you don't have any application connected you can add one by pressing the Add Application button. Password for this application is the one you need to fill in API Password. Note, that due to iContact features, this password must contain at least one number and one letter within first three symbols.

API Username is an email, that you have registered your account with.

Step 3: Enter your API ID, URL, Username and Password #

Now you got all the data you need. Fill the credentials and press the Connect with iContact button:

Step 4: Choose a List #

If the credentials are correct, Convertful will connect to your iContact account to fetch your email lists. Now you can choose an email list to which your subscribers will be added:

Once finished, don’t forget to save the changes (using the Save button in the top right corner).

Integration complete! Now all subscribers who opted-in using this widget will be added to your iContact list.

If you want to create additional fields and marks for subscribers, who opted-in with this widget, you may specify the Advanced Settings (described below).

Marking Subscribers #

You may want to mark subscribers, that opted-in using the current widget, in your iContact list for purposes like: personalized offers, targeted mailing campaigns, conversion rate analysis etc. Convertful provides a simple solution for it.

Activate the Mark Subscribers switch and choose a custom field for marking and fill in its value:

Custom Field for Marking is a name of a custom field from your iContact list, that will be used as an attribute for marking subscribers. If you don't have any custom fields in your list you can create one in your iContact account, as described in the Note below.
Custom Field Value defines the value that will be used for the given attribute.

Once finished, don’t forget to save the changes (using the Save button in the top right corner). After this, each visitor subscribing with this widget will get an additional attribute (a mark) in your iContact list.
