How the cross-device countdown works
When the "Cross-device countdown" feature is enabled, the countdown begins the moment the user first sees it. The deadline is tied to the user's identity (using their email address), rather than being stored only in a browser cookie.
As a result, if the user returns later (on a different device, browser, or even in incognito mode), the system retrieves the original deadline and displays the same remaining time instead of starting a new countdown. Clearing cookies, switching devices, or changing browsers will not reset the timer, as long as the user can still be identified.
To display the timer to the user in another browser, you must identify them by adding their email address to the URL, as shown below:
