With Convertful, you can create banner advertisements that:
- Include graphic images, texts and links to another page on the same website or to external websites e.g. an advertiser’s website.
- Is entirely clickable, so no matter where visitors click on the banner, they will be taken to the next step of your advertisement.
- Can be displayed anywhere on your website using an inline widget.
Creating Banner Widget #
Once you have connected your website to Convertful, go to the “Widgets” tab and click on “Create Widget”.
You will be taken to our Template Library, select “Banners”. We offer a variety of designs which can be edited to suit your needs. Hover over the template that you like and a button will appear for you to “Create Banner”.
Use our widget editor to edit the banner as required. You can create both image-based banners and banners made of a custom combination of image and other elements. You can add text, a background image, add links as you desire. You can read more about customizing widgets here.
For each banner widget, you can choose a specific “Aspect Ratio” in absolute and relative terms, or specify the custom banner size as needed. To simplify this step, we have included the most commonly used banner sizes in the preset options.
To ensure a smooth transition of horizontal layout banners from desktop to mobile version, it is important to consider whether you want to use a different aspect ratio for the mobile version. You can specify a different aspect ratio for the mobile version of the banner as needed. Alternatively you can upload a different size and aspect ratio for the mobile version.
Banners come with a 3-layer background, allowing you to specify:
- Background image
- Background color
- Background Overlay Image
This allows you to use a custom image as a mask over the widget’s background. With it, you can create designs with custom-shaped figures assigned via overlay image. Below is an example:
Assigning actions to Clickable Area
This works the same way as with buttons. To do this in “Widget Settings”, select “On Click Actions”, and add the URL of the page that you want visitors to be redirected to when they click on the banner.
Note you can select whether you want the page to be opened or a new tab or not.
Embedding your banner as an inline widget
To embed the banner as an inline widget on your website, you need to set up the “Place the Widget” option of the “Display Rules” tab:
