How to Connect Convertful with Gist

With Convertful you can easily integrate your account with Gist and use widgets to grow and segment your mailing list. Just follow the guide below to set up Gist integration and set up relevant actions.

Connecting Integration #

In your site’s Integrations tab, add new integration by choosing Gist from the list. It will request your account Access Token. In your Gist account go to Settings, Integration section, API Key, and press the Copy.

Paste the API key inside the Access Token field and press the Connect button:

Default Settings #

Once Gist is connected, by default, each widget will automatically add subscribers with default tags which you can choose in the settings.

Note, that default settings are not mandatory and you can always specify custom tags manually for each specific widget while editing its button's actions.

Mapping Custom Fields #

We try to find the most relevant Gist custom field for every Convertful field automatically. But if you need to fine-tune which fields we should use, you can do this in the integration settings, by editing Custom Fields list:

Actions #

When editing your widget's button, inside its settings you can see “On Submit Actions” / “On Click Actions” which you can use to perform actions provided by Gist integration: 

• Create user with default settings
• Add new tag to a user
• Remove tag from a user
• Update custom field

To add an action, just press the On Submit Actions button, the relevant Add Action button after, and choose the action from the integration-related list:
