How To Connect Convertful with Bento

With Convertful you can easily integrate your account with Bento and use widgets to grow and segment your mailing list. Just follow the guide below to set up Bento integration and relevant actions.

Connecting Integration #

In your Convertful account, go to the site’s Integrations tab, click on Add Integration.

Default Settings #

Once Bento is connected, by default, each widget will automatically add subscribers with the default settings that you specify in the integrations’ settings.

Note, that default settings are not mandatory and you can always specify custom tags manually for each specific widget while editing its button's actions.

Mapping Custom Fields #

We try to find the most relevant Bento custom field for every Convertful field automatically. But if you need to fine-tune which fields we should use, you can do this in the integration settings, by editing Custom Fields list:

Actions #

When editing your widget's button, inside its settings you can see “On Submit Actions” / “On Click Actions” which you can use to perform actions provided by Bento integration:

  • Create user with default settings
  • Add new tag to a user
  • Remove tag from a user
  • Update custom field

When updating custom fields, you can send static and dynamic data. Click the "{ }" icon to see the full list of available dynamic variables:

Bento Events #

When you submit data from Convertful to Bento, events are created in your Bento account which can then be used in Bento's Flows/automations. By default an event's name will contain the widget ID and action, for example: "$convertful.widget_{widget_id}.add_user_tag" .

However you can when setting up an on submit action, edit the event name to suit your needs, for example: "$convertful.widget_popup105cat".

Events will then show up in your Bento account ready for use as required.
