How To Set Up Email Validation for Gamification Widgets?
Convertful does not offer email validation on its widget.
However, if you want to make sure that your coupon codes are being exchanged for real email addresses, the best way to achieve this is to send the coupon code via email. This can be done by connecting Convertful with a CRM and marketing automation software, like Platformly, and Convertful will send your visitors' details including the coupon code to the CRM, who will then send out the email with the coupon code.
In this article, we will show you how you can achieve this with Convertful and Platformly. If you use another CRM software, you will need to check the segmentation and email automation features available for that CRM and apply them accordingly.
- Connect your Convertful and Platformly accounts. You can read more about how to do this here.
- In your Platformly account, create a segment or tag specifically for your gamification widget so you can keep track of the contacts that have been added via the gamification widget. For our example, we will create the segment "Spin and win".
- On your Convertful gamification widget, set
it up so that on submit of the button, a user is created in
Platformly and the user is added to the segment created.
- On the "Prize" screen of the widget, remove
the text field with the coupon code so it will not be displayed
to your visitor.
- Add text that the discount coupon will be sent by
email.
- When the widget is submitted, the Prize and Coupon fields'
data will be automatically sent to Platformly as custom
fields.
- In your Platformly account, create and save
the discount coupon email that will be sent out. Use the
shortcode for the coupon field so that the correct coupon code
will automatically be added for each contact.
- In Platformly, create an automation email
for the discount code email to be sent base on your requirements.
For example, if you have set it up so that every spin will get a
discount code of some kind, then you can simply set the trigger
for the automation to be when a contact is added to the relevant
segment.
- If you have set it up so that there is a possibility of
winning nothing, these contacts should not receive the
discount code email. In this case you will need to set your
automation trigger to when the coupon field is updated to
"not contain" the relevant nothing code.
This way only contacts that do not have the nothing coupon code
will receive the email.
